Does anyone know whether the Airborne units carried Springfields? And if not then why?

The M1903, A3, and A4 was usually given to the infantry squad's marksmen, usually this was the soldier with the highest score on the range or it was simply because the Sergeant handed him the rifle and said "You are now the squad's marksman".
Sometimes these weapons had a scope, sometimes they did not. Sometimes the marksman had to settle for an M1 Garand instead and later in the war he might have gotten the M1C.

Airborne soldiers had more liberty in picking their equipment and weaponry then ground pounders though.

Sounds a bit like Hitler and the K98, instead of allowing the mass manufacture of the MP44!

Financial constraints determine...no it really could hurt lol Not in the position for having two load outs at the moment. I'm quite happy with one good one at the moment anyway.
Considering selling the extra stuff I've picked up along the way soon, with a few exceptions.

does include a medical degree? lol

i was thinking about doing a medic loadout, but i wasn't sure if i could still carry a weapon. Are medics seen as non combatant's?

In ww2 yea I think most were non-combattants. The In the Pocket game will be using non-combattant medics to make better use of the bandage that all players have, shoudl they get hit then oh well, but they shouldnt be actively shot at, and wont be armed.

I don't know whether combat medics were present in WW2 or not.

Really dumb question...but where is the best place to attach the climbing rope, on your self?

Im sure ive seen pics of it attached to the musette bag, but now i cant find the picture. Do you just take the looped ends and feed the fastening straps through them.

Webby can tell you, he carries one on his 82nd loadout.

Had mine tired up with 2 bits of leather lace on the loops under my musset bag.

Don't the loops just feed through the suspenders where they clip on at the bottom of the bag?

Yes most of the time,but sometimes we don't bother hook them on,its alot easy and quicker to drop the musset bags to do some sneaky and just take gun and ammo only,theres all different ways of carry drop down rope,some under musset bag,in the bag or on suspenders or belt,what ever was the easy way,alot of them were used and never used again to cut down on weight etc,only carry the important bits.

At the moment ive looped the lid straps through the rope, so it sits there. The rope ive got came from WPG, so its thicker and aparently more accurate.

I'll have a play around with it though.

I've not got one, although they might be useful on the Mt Etna part of the Husky site!

Found a B4 Mae West on Ebay, but it's in the States, has 9 days left and is already on $50. I think I'm going to do what I've been threatening to do for a while. Anyone get any decent pictures of one? Or specs, basic dimensions? Anything.

On another note, has anyone seen the Band of Brothers HD dvds? Are they selling them in the UK?
